UMIT in partnership with the School of Communication and the Richter Library have engaged in the creation of a virtual environment for students. Currently, four applications have been virtualized: Maple, Mplus, SPSS, and Stata.

Virtual Labs Summary


  • The Virtual Lab is available for students needing access to statistical packages.
  • The Virtual environment is free of use to students and is accessible from any location with internet access.
  • Please keep in mind that the Virtual Lab is non-persistent, meaning all work must be saved in Cloud Storage or local storage.
  • After 15 minutes of inactivity, the virtual machine will begin a logout sequence and any work not saved will be lost.
  • The Virtual Lab environment is currently limited to 42 concurrent connections.
